The necessity of the existence of government in human societies has never been doubled in the areas of establishing social organisation and discipline, establishing security, and controlling the society. In the Islamic code, which is clearly stated in the Qur’an (Qur’an 30:30), Islamic teachings are in accordance to man’s nature. Therefore, they are harmonious with its various requirements. Human basic needs confirm government and emphasise the necessity of a government in the Islamic society. The present EWI volume includes the articles: Government, Caliphate, The Islamic World and Islamic Republic of Iran.
